My name is Jewel Aaida Gonzales. I was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada — on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Surrounded by mountains, ocean, forests, and lakes, this landscape has shaped both my artistic process and who I am as a person.

My photography and multimedia work is rooted in lived experience. To explain each piece would require me to explain everything — and even then, there are parts I don't fully understand myself. Much of my process is subconscious, intuition leading the way more than intention.

Editorial photography asks something different of me. When another person is involved, the work is no longer just mine. I approach shoots with models as a true collaboration, particularly when it comes to movement. Styling, set design, casting, and lighting I handle myself — guided by how I believe the model will look and, more importantly, feel within the space I've created for them.

I am currently open to gallery representation for my multimedia work, and available for photography commissions and collaborations. To connect, please reach out directly.
